Join the vibrant community of the ‘Strategic Cooperation on Education & Training of youth workers’ (EaT SNAC) aiming at systemic impact on education and training of youth workers at national and European level. Since 2022 the community's intention focuses on how to strengthen spaces for synergies, cooperation, and joint reflection on systematic quality development in youth worker education & training at the national and European level using the EU Youth programmes.

EaT SNAC focuses on creating strong connections within systems by developing recognition and validation mechanisms and tools at both national and European levels. The steering group of EaT SNAC includes the National Agencies for Erasmus+ Youth and the European Solidarity Corps from Belgium-Flanders, Estonia, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, and Latvia, alongside the SALTO Training and Cooperation Resource Centre.

The overall intention of the EaT SNAC Agora is from its beginning bringing together stakeholders from the non-formal and formal education sector to discuss and develop further the following topics in the context of education & training of youth worker:

• Recognition and validation (systems, elements, approaches), 
• the Political dimension of youth work, 
• Professional identity of youth workers, 
• Reflective practice, 
• European youth work as a subject of teaching and training in education and training of youth workers, and
• Curriculum design.

Education and training of youth workers are different in each country due to traditions, systems, and current political challenges. The exchange of practical collaboration between different stakeholders, peer learning and further inspiration are crucial to the EaT SNAC.

Process of developing the papers

Currently, six author teams are working on the six different papers with the challenge given that the papers:

• Should be situated in the context of European Youth Work – and not limited to a specific country or tradition.
• Present a kind of “state of the art” and identify fresh and inspiring theses.
• Identifying further questions for future discussions.

In the preparation process, you can already contribute to the process. You will be asked about your preferences in the application form.

The ‘EaT SNAC Agora – Anchoring quality education & training of youth workers’ will take place on 27-30 October 2026 in Budapest, Hungary and it is for you if…

• You participate in youth worker education and training as a lecturer, professor, trainer, in any other role,
• You participate in developing education and training strategies and interested in discussing them at European – international environment,
• You are ready to question your own and the practice in education and training of youth workers of your organisation/institution,
• You are ready to contribute to shaping the Eat SNAC content for cross-sectorial learning and action in community,
• You are willing to contribute to systemic change in the further development of quality youth worker education and training.

The event will bring together up to 80 participants from formal and non-formal sectors of education and training of youth workers. The profile of participants includes academics, professors, educators, trainers, experts as well as representatives of National Agencies of Erasmus+ (youth, education, and training) and the European Solidarity Corps.

The target groups are…

• Professionals with experience in training and education of youth workers,
• Stakeholders who are active in representing and advocating interests of youth workers especially concerning education and training dimension,
• Professionals with context, capacity or means to bring a systemic impact on education and training of youth workers, 
• National Agencies’ officers responsible for implementing national processes of EaT SNAC, and
• Policy makers who are involved in shaping training and education of youth workers.

Desired contribution and outcomes by organisers

• As a participant you will be part of one of the seven delegations. 
• There will be a preparation process, where we invite you to read the draft Working papers. This might determine your participation!
• Onboarding meetings: there are 2 opportunities please chose one 08 October 9h-10h30 CET or 23 Sept 16h30-18h00 CET.
• The draft Working papers will be presented and send to you for preparation by the 15th October.
• An overview will be given on the national processes and further topics discussed.
• Present and agree about EaT SNAC action plan: This plan should outline a sharp vision for the future, detailing strategic objectives, key initiatives, and measurable goals.
• Inspirational questions for individual reflection. These questions should encourage deeper thinking about the 6 Working paper topics, and how individuals can contribute to and benefit from the cross-sectorial community.

Practical aspects

The activity will take place in Budapest. Please note that this activity is limited to participants from the seven involved countries and on further targeted invitation.

A program helyszínére való utazást a résztvevők maguk szervezik és fizetik.
