This Partnership Building activity (PBA) is for you, if:

  • You are interested in organising and implementing inclusive activities;

  • You and your organisation are  working with young persons with intellectual disabilities;

  • You would like to improve international mobility opportunities for young people with intellectual disabilities and support their active participation in mobility projects;

  • Your organisation is looking for new partners to develop international cooperation on mobility projects.

In this PBA you will:

  • Participate in Networking and team building activities;

  • Receive relevant information on Erasmus+ projects and special support for involving youth with intellectual disabilities;

  • Be introduced to the examples of past quality projects;

  • Spend time to develop future partnership projects ;

  • Get support from facilitators and Erasmus+ National Agency officers.

The idea of this activity is based on the researched needs of the stakeholders to build new connections and have more international collaboration in the field. Therefore we have developed this activity especially for youth workers and leaders working with young people with intellectual disabilities. The provided information and the tools are designed for mobility projects for the target group. The different realities of the working environment around Europe will also be  taken into account.

Before applying, check that you fit the following criteria:

  • You work with young people with intellectual disabilities, aged between 13-29 years

  • You have the support from your organisation to attend the PBA

  • You are willing to develop and implement Erasmus+ projects under KA1

  • You are minimum 18 years old

The working language in this PBA is English.

General objectives of the activity:

  • To develop and strengthen project partnerships between different organisations in Europe that directly work with youth with intellectual disabilities.

  • To create and deepen personal and professional relationships between the stakeholders to strengthen the future cooperation.

  • To share knowledge and skills regarding youth work and youth engagement

  • To promote Youth Participation as a key element when designing European and international projects.

  • To increase the knowledge of opportunities provided by EU Youth programmes to the youth with intellectual disabilities and organisations working with them.

Impact of the activity:

As a result of this PBA, you will gain knowledge and information about the other participating organisations. Together with other participants, you will develop Erasmus+ project ideas. You will know how to involve the young people with intellectual disabilities in project planning, implementing and evaluation. As well, you will find out more about the possibilities offered by the Erasmus+ and know where to get more info and help if needed. Finally, you will be able to share the knowledge and resources gained in the activity with your co-workers and networks back home.

You can find more info on Erasmus+ programme here.

Safety, accessibility and sustainability

In this event, we follow the principles of a safe space. We strive to ensure that everyone is met as their own self and that no one has to fear discrimination or harassment. We expect you to respect the same principle.

Our activities are accessible to people with different abilities. If you need an accessible room, an accessible transport, to bring a personal assistant with you or other kind of support, we will provide it for you. Please tell us about your individual needs beforehand, so we can support you in your participation.

We take sustainability in consideration wherever we can. Since most of the participants have to fly over the sea to Finland, we encourage you to travel on land within Finland. We also encourage you to contact your own national agency to find out how they support low emission travelling to activities abroad.

We provide plant-based meals, or use locally grown and produced foods, as much as possible. We also respect the diets and food allergies of all participants.
