When developing local neighborhoods and policies, municipalities need to turn their plans into practical action. To make sure these projects actually work and last, young people need to be actively involved

This study visit in Strasbourg is a hands-on opportunity to see how this works in real life. We will visit local projects that share governance with young people, giving you fresh ideas and practical tools to use back in your own town or city.

Main Objectives

• Understand co-design processes: See how local research, neighborhood work, and workshops help create projects that young people actually want and need, both in official youth spaces and informal hangouts.
• Discover shared governance models: Learn how youth councils, co-managed youth work practices and youth participatory budgets are set up and run in practice.
• Map local partners: Find out how to get municipalities, sports clubs, cultural centers, and local groups to work together effectively.
• Explore new ways of working: Visit youth labs and creative hubs, and try out interactive methods.
• Share daily advocacy practices: Learn how young people and city staff can work together to pitch, showcase, and run local youth projects.

Language of the Study Visit:

All communication during the study visit will be in English; therefore, applicants must have a sufficient level of English to be able to express themselves freely.

Who is this for?

To make sure this Study Visit has a real impact back home, we are looking for local duos from the same municipality. We want to bring together 26 participants from programme countries, aiming for a balanced mix of half young people and half municipal staff.

You should apply together as a pair:

• A young person or young leader (18+ years old) who is active in the local community.
• A municipal officer or city worker who is responsible for youth policy in the same municipality.

Our program is practical and based on learning from each other, rooted in non-formal pedagogy. The program will include site visits in Strasbourg and non-formal workshops to get a better understanding about participatory youth work practices.

Practical Information

• Arrival: Monday, 23 November 2026 (including a welcome evening)
• Working Days: 24, 25, and 26 November 2026 (full days)
• Departure: Friday, 27 November 2026 (after breakfast)
• Accommodation: participants will sleep in Ciarus Youth Hostel or Ibis Hotel, Strasbourg

A részvétel költségei: 

A résztvevők nemzetközi utazását, ill. biztosítási költségeit a Tempus Közalapítvány, a külföldi szállás és étkezés, valamint a programhoz kapcsolódó költségeket a fogadó nemzeti iroda vagy a szervező fedezi.

A résztvevő, a programra történő utazása során felmerülő egyéb utazási költségeket (transzfer költségek)- mint a programhoz történő résztvevői hozzájárulást - fizeti. Amennyiben a transzfer költségek együttes összege a 10.000 forintot meghaladja, úgy a Közalapítvány egyéni kérelem benyújtását követően - egyedi elbírálás alapján - a 10.000 forint feletti összeget megtéríti a résztvevő részére.

Felhívjuk a jelentkezők figyelmét, hogy az utazás megszervezése a Tempus Közalapítvány hatáskörébe tartozik. Az esetlegesen felmerülő többletköltségeket a Tempus Közalapítvány nem állja, a keletkezett károkért felelősséget nem vállal.
